Digital Consent and Intimate Images

Respect privacy, permission and safety in digital relationships.

Permission matters online too

Consent to create an image is not automatically consent to save, forward, post or show it to others. Ask for clear permission before sharing intimate content and respect a refusal or a request to delete it, subject to applicable law and safety considerations.

Never use pressure

Threatening to share images, coercing someone to send them or sharing intimate content without permission can cause serious harm and may be unlawful. Do not pressure someone with guilt, threats or repeated requests.

If an image was shared without consent

Consider documenting relevant evidence safely, using platform reporting tools and reaching out to a trusted person or appropriate local support service. If someone is being threatened or is in immediate danger, seek local help. Laws and available remedies vary, so qualified legal or support advice may be useful.
