Our editorial approach
Content should be understandable, respectful, inclusive and grounded in reliable medical or public-health sources. We distinguish established facts, areas of uncertainty and general educational information from personal medical advice.
Sources and verification
Authors should prioritise primary public-health guidance, professional clinical organisations, government health resources and peer-reviewed research. Key claims should link to their sources. Editors should check that sources apply to the topic and context, and that recommendations are current when published.
Corrections and updates
Display an original publication date and a meaningful update date. Update articles when authoritative guidance changes, and maintain a record of substantial corrections. A contact route for corrections must be configured before launch.
Independence
Disclose sponsorships, commercial relationships and conflicts of interest. Advertising must not be presented as independent medical guidance. Never accept payment in exchange for fabricated medical endorsements or guaranteed health claims.
